| Boards and wetsuits are available to rent from us if you don’t want to bring your own equipment. We have all sizes available in fibre glass and epoxy and work closely with local shaper Semente surfboards. You can order your own customised Semente board through pocean, tailored to suit your needs. Please go to the boards section of this website for more details. |

| Identification |
|
| Portugal is part of the EU, therefore all EU residents will not need any visas. Just have a valid passport for entry. Visitors from countries outside the EU please consult your embassy on details and requirements for entry into Portugal. |

| Equipment |
|
| The waves and weather are very consistent in Portugal but as the height of swell, water and air temperature varies between the seasons we would advise you to bring the following equipment between the following months: |
|
| November – March |
|
| Generally the swell is bigger during this period and also the air and water temperature is cooler. Surf equipment advised is: |
|
| 4x3 sealed wetsuit and 6’1” – 6’8” - and for the chargers 7’+ |
|
| The air temperature varies but during the day 15 – 25 degrees is normal, so shorts can be worn, however sunscreen is still required as the sun is strong. At night the temperature tends to drop quite sharply so you will need warm clothes for going out in town. |
|
| April – October |
|
| As we enter spring/summer the swell size normally drops but is still consistently in the 2’ – 6’ range. Surf equipment advised is: |
|
| 3x2 sealed wetsuit and 6’0” – 6’6” |
|
| The air temperature is hottest between June and August with an average of 25-30 degrees during the day, so pack some sunscreen. April, May, Sept, Oct can also be hot during the day but we would advise packing trousers and jumpers as well for the evening. |
|
| Eating, drinking, nightlife and local area |
|
| Portugal is well renowned for fantastic food and wines, and at the surf villa there’s no shortage of both. The nearby town of Ericeria has great restaurants and bars for you to enjoy after a good days surfing. There is also the historical town Sintra only 30 minutes drive away. This stunning town set in the hills above Lisbon, and the old buildings that surround it literally takes your breath away. The capital city of Lisbon is only 40mins away by car, which is now regarded as one of Europe’s finest destinations. The nightlife is amazing and can accommodate the most serious party animals.
